Step #1 – The Basics

1.  Verify that the USB data cable between the Cradle and the BOPC are connected.

If you are not using the cradle, verify that the cable between the HH and the BOPC are connected.

2.  Check that the Power cable between the Cradle and the power supply are connected.

If you are not using the cradle, verify that the cable between the HH and the BOPC are connected.

3.  Make sure that there are no obstructions inside the cradle that would prevent the HH from connecting to the Cradle.


4.  Restart the computer.


5.  At this point place the HH in the cradle or connect the HH to the BOPC. If this does not re-establish a link between the BOPC and the HH, move on to the next step…


Step #2 - Warm Boot

1.  Take HH out of Cradle

2.  Make sure HH is turned ON

3.  Warm boot your HH. This will not cause you to lose any data from the HH. All of your data will remain intact.

 SC600: Press F1 + F4

 SC800: Press the RESET button located on the back of your HH

4.  Place the HH back in the Cradle.

5.  This should get you connected. If not, then move on to the next step…


Step #3 - Restart ActiveSync from within the HH

With the HH inserted in the Cradle (or connected directly to the BOPC), perform the following steps:

1.  Press the START button on the HH

2.  Press PROGRAMS

3.  Press COMMUNICATIONS

4.  Press USB ACTIVE SYNC

5.  This should get the HH to communicate with your computer.

6.  If not take the HH out of the cradle (or unplug it) then plug it back in.

7.  Repeat Steps 1 – 4 above (START > PROGRAMS > COMMUNICATION > USB ACTIVE SYNC).


Step # 4 - Cold boot

Warning: Cold Starting the HH will cause ALL data and custom programs installed on the HH to be deleted

  

The HH will revert to manufacture defaults upon completion of the cold start. You may need assistance from the S2K helpdesk to perform this task as you will need to re-install the S2K software.

  

Follow the steps below to perform a cold boot.

1.    Take HH out of Cradle.

2.    Make sure HH is turned ON.

3.    Cold boot your HH.  This WILL cause you to lose any data from the HH.  All of your data will be lost so be sure to synchronize your HH prior to doing the cold boot. 

SC600: Press F1 + F4 + Power button.

SC800: Press the POWER and the RESET buttons.

4.    Place the HH back in the Cradle.

5.    If this does not establish a link between your HH and the BOPC, then contact the S2K helpdesk
