Troubleshooting S2K Handhelds

 

Acronyms

HH = Handheld Device

BOPC = S2K Back Office Computer


Problem:

HH will not turn on 

Solution:

1.    Make sure that a charged battery is inserted into the Handheld.

2.    Press the red colored POWER button on the hand held device.

 

Problem:

Handheld is not responding (Frozen) 

Solution:

Perform a warm boot to un-freeze a non-responding HH.  The warm boot WILL NOT cause any data loss.  So if you were in the middle of an invoice and the HH froze-up on you; doing a warm boot will not result in any data loss.

  

Steps:

1.    Take HH out of Cradle

2.    Make sure HH is turned ON

3.    Use the warm boot sequence for your HH model:

SC600: Press F1 + F4

SC800: Press the RESET button located on the back of your HH

 

 

Problem:

Handheld will not communicate with the BOPC 

Solution:

The steps below will help you re-establish a connection between your HH and the BOPC.  It is not necessary to attempt all steps below.  Stop once you have established a link between the HH and the BOPC.
